Know Your Numbers – pH & Water-Quality Gear for Confident UK Grows

Healthy roots live in a very narrow comfort zone. Drift just 0.3 pH points and calcium locks out, iron precipitates, and your leaves start shouting.
Our curated range of meters, pens, controllers and calibration kits keeps you on the sweet spot every day – whether you’re mixing one 10-litre jug or running a 1 000-litre recirculating tank.

What you’re measuring Why it matters
pH (acidity / alkalinity) Nutrient uptake pivots on pH. 5.5-6.5 for hydro & coco, 6.2-7.0 for soil.
EC / CF / TDS (conductivity) Tells you how much food is really in the soup – prevents over-fert burn or under-feeding.
Temperature Nutrient solubility & dissolved oxygen change with every °C. Dial it in, avoid root stress.

🛠 Why these tools make life easier

  • One-button calibration – most models guide you through a two-step buffer calibration in under 60 seconds.

  • Automatic temperature compensation (ATC) – reliable readings from a chilly garage (15 °C) to a steamy propagation room (28 °C).

  • Rugged, waterproof housings – IP67 ratings, rubber grips and drop-tested cases shrug off splashes and fertiliser dust.

  • Replaceable probes & parts – swap the sensor, not the whole meter, saving cash and landfill.

Opinion: In our experience, investing in a decent pH/EC setup pays for itself in one crop — you’ll spot lock-out issues days before leaves turn, adjust feed strength with surgical accuracy, and run far cleaner reservoirs.
